“The Power of Negative Thinking”?

No Comments babbling, General

In today’s Behance’s Newsletter, you can read an interesting article of Dr. Christian Jarrett “ The Power of Negative Thinking“. I’m not a psychologist, so it’s only my humble opinion, but I wouldn’t qualify as negative the fact of being realist and aware of eventual problems, I actually think it’s common sense. I always thought positive thinking as a motivational attitude. You are more able to get things done with a “you can do it” attitude rather than a  ”it would never work” attitude, because it makes things easier but it doesn’t change the fact that you have to work for it. What’s your opinion?

Dream big, work hard & enjoy yourself

Look for the bright side

No Comments babbling, General

It’s not because things doesn’t come the way you want, as soon as you want that everything goes wrong. Sometimes, you have to stop and look at the bright side, and seek for an opportunity to do something new or something that you wouldn’t usually do . Some people – sometimes I tend to be one of them- freak out because they can’t get/use internet for a day or even an hour. Obviously, nowadays internet is a very important tool for an artist, but being unable to use it for a short period of time, doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the world. It’s very easy to be hooked on the internet or any gadget in the matter, and we easily  forget that there a Life out there. Read more

6 ways to Get yourself some “Me” time to boost your creativity

3 Comments babbling, creativity

Sometimes, your mind just can’t keep up,too much paper work , studies, tasks that you don’t like but can’t be avoid, no time to think about creating new stuff, suddenly you feel your brain is about to explode… When this happens, the best thing to do, is take a break:

1# Have a long walk

2# Meet up with some friends

3# Do some sport (not my favorite one…)

4# go photo hunting

5# read something that has anything to do with art.

6# listen to music

Basically, get out from your computer or studio! There is a Life out there. Then, when you come back, take the decision to change something on your daily routine, because is not healthy for your creativity to be in the edge that way, you should always have a daily “Me” time. Obviously, it’s easier to say it than do it, but if you don’t try… and if you need more ideas, Mike brown, from Brainzooming, will give 26 ones!

And this was my “Me” time today: photos hunting with my men. What was yours?

Goals list for 2011

1 Comment babbling

It’s an international tradition, every year, we set up new goals for the new coming year, sometimes impossible to be accomplish and others that you will have end up doing it anyway so maybe you should have wished for something  a bit more challenging.

This year, I more or less, was able to make it:

-I did sport for 7 months ( I stopped because of summer holidays and now it’s rainning too much and I have so little time —> such lame excuse isn’t it?)

- I considerably reduce my consummation of chocolate -just kidding myself here and worse I drink now more coffee than I used to do-

-I tried and learned a new medium – Big fan of markers, here!!!

- I read, learned ( and applied!) a lot about marketing.

(etc…)

Anyway, I’m babbling about that because Nicole Balch’s article “30 before thirthy ” , gave me an idea. I will put my goals list in the blog and cross them off as I achieved them. How about you?

Put a smile on your face and go for it

Today, my hubby took me to this coffee place, that he discovered few weeks ago, where they serve awesome “tapas”. As I wasn’t in the mood to try something new, I went for a simple black coffee and a piece cake.  I was pleasantly surprised, when the waitress brought me a huge piece cake and  a cup of coffee with a little cute heart drawn on it. After a while, my hubby pointed out that although I finished the cake long ago, I didn’t touch yet my coffee, it’s just that it looked so cute, that I didn’t want to drink it, silly of me, at the end I had it cold but still it was unexpectedly one of the best coffee that I drunk lately…

Sometimes, we are so concerned about some little things, that are really not that important but for some kind of unknown reason, we manage to get so obsesses with it  that you end up  losing focus on what should really matter.

Next time I’ll have a tapa and a hot delicious coffee…   ^__^
